The Softness of Spring & Motherhood
My heart smiles every time I come across these pictures of Rebecca and her precious little one.
Glimpse into Motherhood
A newfound appreciation has developed within me for the early days of motherhood, a time filled with both challenges and unforgettable moments that shape our experiences as parents. Through a career of nannying, I’ve been blessed to see a different light in motherhood; how intimate a maternal bond can be, how special it is to connect with a tiny human being, how impactful your emotions and thoughts are to them.
It’s truly insightful for when I begin a family of my own in the future. How grateful I am to have the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges and joys of parenting, so I’m better prepared for the wild journey of motherhood.
It felt profoundly special to be in the presence of an amazing, warmhearted woman as Rebecca and see the softness and care she has for baby Harrison. Her energy was vibrantly welcoming,
I can’t quite remember how our paths initially crossed but I’m so glad they did. I traveled to Wilmington to capture these two. Rebecca told me about a little pond she was interested in shooting at and I thought it sounded beautiful. It was that and more. So much greenery, with little pops of yellow, clovers and dandelions to play with. Baby H was timid, sticking to his mama for the most part, but I could also see his curiosity.. and a little cheekiness peaking through.
Simple and gentle is the best approach for shoots with little ones. Letting them explore, feel, and simply be gives you the space to relax and be present as well. When a baby feels safe, comfortable, and at ease, you’ll find yourself calm and confident too.
This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy stayed at home, this little piggy….
Although we were in full sun during early spring, there was a fresh coolness to the air that made it comfortable to linger outside for quite a while. With music softly playing and conversation flowing easily, the moment felt like catching up with an old friend.
I look forward to meeting more lovely mamas, their sweet children, and capturing the very essence of motherhood.
If you’re craving photos that feel gentle, honest, and full of heart, I’d love to spend a slow spring morning with you.
