Hi! I’m Alexis

I’ve always been a deeply sentimental person. Ever since I was little, I would spend hours digging through family photo albums, trying to hold onto moments that existed before I could remember them. My dad is the same way. Scrapbooks stacked high, photographs from his teenage years, albums beginning from the day I was born. Memories carefully preserved, proof that a life was fully lived. I think somewhere along the way, I inherited that tenderness from him.

My camera and I are glued at the hip. It follows me through slow mornings and sunlight pouring through windows, road trips and peaceful evenings with friends; all the quiet wonder tucked into everyday life. I move through this life with curiosity, always connected to warmth, movement, and playfulness.

Film just feels familiar to me. The grain, the softness, the way the colors subtly shift and fade as it ages. Most of my cameras have been passed down to me. My polaroid was once my uncle’s, gifted to me the moment he realized how much I loved this medium. My grandmother gifted me a few others too. Photographing with these cameras feels like carrying little pieces of my family history with me wherever I go.

In a world constantly asking us to move faster, I admire how film chooses the opposite, inviting intentionality and presence. Moments feel alive. I’ve fallen in love with documenting people as they are— the complexities and transformations of motherhood, the immense joy and tenderness of weddings, the sacredness of capturing the seasons you’re moving through. These are the kinds of small moments we may one day forgot until a photograph gently brings us back to them again. This is what I do.

More than anything, I hope my work feels like memory. Something honest, tangible, and full of life to return to for years to come.

Outside of photography, you’ll find me…
