Jo + Erika: Engagement Session in the Heart of Uptown Charlotte

Something I adore about photographing couples is watching the way they move around each other. The tiny whispers they trade during the session, the quick instinctive way they smooth a piece of hair that slipped out of place, the shy smiles in the beginning that slowly melt into belly laughs and easy affection by the end. Jo & Erika let me step right into that softness. Thank you both for inviting me into your love story and trusting me to bottle up the feeling of how you fell for each other. It’s one of those things worth keeping forever.

We started our Uptown wander at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse for a quick moment, then drifted over to Marshall Park, where the tress were turning the richest orange. Leaves tumbled around us in the autumn breeze, and we took our time strolling through it all. Every time I’d spot a little pocket of magic, I’d let out an “ooh I like this!” and we’d drop right into a moment together. They hardly needed any direction— their connection did all the work. We stopped by The Green, a spot that holds something special for them, before traipsing up to the Target parking garage for those wide-open city views. To end the evening, pizza and garlic knots filled our bellies from their favorite pizza joint: Pizza Baby. It was honestly the perfect, cozy finish and I wasso glad to have explored the city with these two lovers.

If you’re dreaming of photos that feel warm and honest to your relationship, whether in the city or somewhere quieter, I’d love to create something with you. Reach out and let’s make a little magic of your own ⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
